What does it mean to have a lot of dreams about swimming pools?
A long time ago I started to have reoccurring dreams that I was in a 100 foot deep swimming pool and just clinging to the edge. Then sometimes I would dream I was swimming but the size and deepness of the pool was kind of freaky. I still keep having dreams about swimming pools, usually they are huge. Since I tried scuba diving in real life, although I didn't like it, I feel more comfortable swimming in the deep water but it's still a bit freaky. I have no fear of normal sized swimming pools in real life! What do you think these dreams mean?

To see water in your dream, symbolizes your unconscious and your emotional state of mind. Water is the living essence of the psyche and the flow of life energy. It is also symbolic of spirituality, knowledge, healing and refreshment. If the water is calm, clear, then it signifies that you are in tune with your spirituality. It denotes serenity, peace of mind, and rejuvenation.
To see a hole in the ground or your swimming pool, denotes hidden aspects of your activities. On the other hand, it may mean that you are feeling hollow or empty inside. This dream may be an awakening for you in that you need to get out and expose your self to new interests and activities.
To dream that you fall into a hole, signifies a pitfall in a situation in your life or that you are stuck in a hole. Perhaps, you have dug yourself into a hole and can not get out of it.

I have had swimming pool dreams before, it was at a time when I was overwhelmed.
In your awake life…
Do you feel like you are drowning in anything?
Do you feel powerless? Like you are too small to take on the problem?
Do you feel like things around you are changing/swirling/cycloning out of control?
Do you feel like you are aimless/drifting away things that make you feel secure and comfortable?
Maybe that is the reason for your dreams.

The way you share experience with other people or are involved with other people. It therefore often refers to relationships with others, especially the aspect of relationship where feelings or influence permeates you from the people you are mixing with.
The swimming pool may also represent the magical inner world of your own mind, fantasy and imagination, especially in relationship with other people

isn't water supposed to represent Money?
Maybe you will win the lottery.
Seriously. you may have entered a phase in your life where you feel overwhelmed by something. Maybe you should try taking some time out, if you can.
Do a bit of meditation or Yoga. You need to unload some of your negative energy.
I usually go for a swim… no pun intended. Try writing the feelings down.

well, i think it can mean either 3 things:
1. you have to go to the bathroom
2.you are scared of something in your life and are afraid of drowning in this large swimming pool.
3.you are having a good life and are relaxing in this swimming pool.
lets hope for #3!

Gotcha…
I think you are afraid of getting drowned and this scuba thing was just and effort by you to minimise your fear… and I afraid you were not upto it and that made the situation even worse…
Its a real psychological problem, "The best way to kill your fear is to do the thing you're afraid of.", someone said.
So just try to satisfy your mind that you're not going to die in that way… and if the problem persists, do call a psychologist…

I'm no dream interpreter but here's my take on it.
What is constant about your dream is that you are always in it. The fact that you've been having similar dreams means you are in a situation that doesn't seem to be changing any time soon. So it must mean this is about your life and some circumstances you've faced over the years.
You cling to the edge of the pool but do not venture out. So the task seems too big or overwhelming to you. Yet when you leave the ledge and swim alone in the deep pool that ledge of security is gone and there is much insecurity and risk and much less certainty. What you experience in that deep pool when you are out there is normal. Everyone has those fears and anxieties. The good thing is that you never drown in it so you are a survivor and you've found a way to resolve the situation.
The fact that you are not afraid of swimming pools and that you've taken scuba diving to conquer your fear of swimming in the water is great.
Since the dreams seem to be about your present circumstance. I'd change the circumstance If I were in the deep like that and alone like that. That's right you can change your dream. I'd look for another swimmer under there to help them or or they can help you out. A network of friends well take a lot of fear and anxiety out of a hard and uncontrollable situation.
I said you can change the dream because my son when he was young had a recurring nightmare about a wild pig that was attacking him. I told him son, kill the pig and feed the family. He did that and no longer had that dream.

ANXIETY. Not necessarily to do with water, pools or drowning.( Especially, since you haven't got this problem.) The water or what it symbolizes, won't hurt you if you are capable and strong enough to swim through. What does the large, deep pool mean to you? The answer could be that it is beyond your comfort level. You are in the pools, already. You have only to choose whether you will get out or get across. I think you can do it, whatever you get yourself into.

I'll go with the first answer. Actually when I was little, I had a dream and in that dream I was in my school bathroom, doing number 1 and when I woke up…well…you know…
Other wise, I DON'T KNOW.
